Occupational Therapy Technician

The post holder will work closely with the therapy staff/MDT, to assess EOC patients pre and postoperatively, treat and actively be involved in the discharge planning for those patient's admitted to the Elective Orthopaedic Centre. The post holder will also take a lead in the preparation, co-ordination and execution of the Joint School. The ultimate aim of providing an occupational therapy service to these patients relates to promoting their function and independence in occupational performance areas, and to facilitate safe discharges. The role will involve a mix of both patient facing and non-patient facing clinical tasks. The post holder will be asked to work in other areas occasionally to cover and support staff absences or service needs. They will receive formal supervision from a Senior OT and participate in in-service training and team meetings.
