If it is identified that you require sponsorship to undertake this role your application may be withdrawn We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Community Occupational Therapy Team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner. You will work as part of our team of experienced Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Assistants to assess and treat adults with a range of conditions within their own homes. The wider Occupational Therapy Team will support the post holder. The post holder will work under the direction and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist and be expected to work under their own initiative to manage a non-complex caseload of community patients appropriate to the role.We are renowned for being an innovative and forward-thinking organisation with an ever-expanding portfolio of services. You will need to be flexible with working 5 days over 7 including weekends and Bank Holidays
As a Band 4 OTAP under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist you will be expected to work on your own and as part of a team focusing on excellent quality patient care including formulating treatment goals and identifying rehabilitation plans. You will be required to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, show initiative and team spirit as well as be committed to patient care. You will be flexible and able to work in a variety of locations in South Staffordshire, as the service requires. An understanding of assessment and rehabilitation appropriate to the role is essential as are good IT skills, knowledge and understanding of criteria for equipment provision. Applicants should have relevant Level 3 (or above) qualification in health care, or education. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with:
- Keen interest & / or experience of working in rehabilitation services and can demonstrate a strong understanding of therapy and service needs.
- To assess new service user referrals and care/support needs.
- Proactive in developing sound clinical skills in the assessment and management of patients in the rehabilitation and / or community environment appropriate to the role.
- To deliver a high standard of intervention, whilst managing the demands of unplanned aspects of the role.
- To take accountability for allocated assessments, planning and implementation of interventions within their caseload.
- Experience of when to escalate to a qualified team member.
