Full Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a keen, enthusiastic, and highly motivated occupational therapist to join our new A-EDIT team. The Adult Eating Disorders Intensive Treatment service (A-EDIT) is a regionwide service offering treatment as an alternative to Specialist Eating Disorder (SEDU) inpatient admission to adults receiving treatment from an east of England Community Eating Disorders service (CEDS) who have a severe eating disorder which makes them eligible for SEDU admission.

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver specialist occupational therapy interventions that promote safety, functional recovery, and community-based stabilisation, thereby reducing the need for inpatient admission.

Main duties of the job

Using expert knowledge of eating disorder symptomatology, psychopathology, and their impact on occupational performance, the post holder will complete comprehensive assessments, develop robust formulations, and implement evidence-based interventions that enhance engagement in meaningful occupations and support sustained recovery. This includes planning, delivering, and evaluating individual and group interventions, both online and in person, in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning and provide highly specialist advice to colleagues across the AEDIT team and the wider community eating disorder network.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is a health and social care organisation dedicated to providing high-quality care with compassion to improve the health and wellbeing of the people we care for, as well as supporting andempowering them to lead a fulfilling life.

Our clinical teams deliver many NHS services, not only via inpatient and primary care settings, but also within the community. These services include children's, adult and older people's mental health, forensic and specialist mental health, learning disabilities, primary care and liaison psychiatry, substance misuse, social care, research and development.

To achieve our goal, we look to recruit high-calibre candidates who share our vision and values. As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applications from all sectors of the community, particularly from under-represented groups including people with long term conditions and members of our ethnic minority and LGBTQ+ communities.

Please be advised we reserve the right to close adverts earlier than the closing date should we receive sufficient applications.
