Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Occupational Therapy team as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the well-established Community Resource Team, based in Cardiff. We are looking for Full and Part time Occupational Therapists who are motivated, dynamic and confident with experience of working in an NHS community setting who are looking to work in a team focused on supporting people to maintain independence at home. The positions will be based with the Cardiff Community Resource Team, which is based over 2 sites including Whitchurch and Llanrumney offices. The expectation is to cover the Occupational Therapy service across the whole of the city, as needed. We can offer you:

As well as Occupational Therapists the teams are made up of Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Dietitians, Nurses, Rehabilitation Technicians, Doctors, Age Connects brokers and Social Services staff. This post is a community post which involves travelling between a number of patient homes in the locality, often with equipment. As such, the post-holder will be required to be a driver with a valid UK driving license and daily access to a car., As an Occupational Therapist within the Community Resource Team you will bepart of a community based multi-disciplinary team which aims to promote the independence of patients/clients living at home/within the care sector so as to avoid inappropriate hospital admissions, facilitate and ensure safe early hospital discharge and prevent/reduce any unnecessary long-term permanent placements. You will deliver Occupational Therapy assessment/interventions in line with current guidance/evidence base and you will be supported in your development underpinned by the RCOT Pillars of Practice. Opportunities for development of supervisory skills will be available and engagement in service development/improvement projects and role promotion encouraged.
The team provide a seven-day service with a weekend rota in place. Sound IT skills will be required and you will be will be provided with any equipment needed. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
