Full Job Description

To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based/client cantered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in an inpatient setting, to organize this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities.

To ensure clinical records are kept to agreed standards and report accurately to others.

To work in partnership with clients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team to identify relevant goal.

To maintain clinical records to agreed standards and report accurately to others.

To participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in Band 5 Development Programme and other developmental activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our acute stroke Occupational Therapy service. We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic therapist to work in this dynamic team.

As an Occupational Therapist working in the acute stroke team you will work closely with the Occupational Therapists and with the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide a patient centred approach. You will need to have good communication skills, good time management, prioritisation skills and be flexible.

The successful candidate will hold a defined case load providing evidence based assessments and interventions to promote independence and quality of life to patient having a new diagnosis of a stroke.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential within this post. The successful candidate will need to plan and manage their time effectively, ensuring prioritisation and completion of both clinical and non-clinical tasks, to ensure effective workload management and the ability to respond flexibly to the needs of the service., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
