Full Job Description
As an Adult Care Services occupational therapist, you will hold your own caseload and work in partnership with people living in the community across Hertfordshire. You will undertake a holistic assessment of need to identify person-centred outcomes. We work in an enabling way with people and their families and carers, to promote independence and participation, through meaningful occupation and a strengths-based approach. Across all our services we aim to ensure that people are provided with the right support and advice, and at the right time. Our Adult Care Services practice principles are very much aligned to core occupational therapy values, with the ultimate aim of connecting people to the life that they want to live. We work collaboratively alongside social care colleagues, as well as with our health partners, housing and care providers, and a range of community support services. The role will also include an opportunity to mentor and develop others. - Occupational Therapy Degree
- Current registration with the HCPC
- To ensure practice is consistent with The Royal College of Occupational Therapists' Professional standards for occupational therapy practice, conduct and ethics, and the HCPC Standards of Proficiency for Occupational therapy
- Knowledge and experience of relevant social care legislation, such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005
- To be a confident team member with good decision-making skills
- The ability to work successfully with partners and other agencies
- A full UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle for work purposes We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. We are not able to offer sponsorship at this time for this role., You'll need to have the ability to drive and/or travel around Hertfordshire, either using your own mode of transport or a company car to travel to other locations. English Fluency The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post (for those whose language is a signed language the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English to the necessary standard of fluency will be required).
