Full Job Description
You will:
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based, person-centred occupational therapy
- Work within anintegrated, multidisciplinary team, contributing to effective discharge planning and care pathways
- Support individuals to engage in meaningful occupations, promoting recovery and independence
- Facilitate recovery-focused interventions, including therapeutic group work within inpatient and community settings
- Work collaboratively with patients, families/carers, and third sector partners to enhance health and wellbeing outcomes
- Apply the principles of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010within your practice
This 12-month fixed-term rotational post offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across both adult inpatient services (6 months) and a Community Mental Health Team (6 months). Placement locations will be determined based on service need, offering a dynamic and varied experience. This role is ideal for a newly qualified Occupational Therapist or individuals with a strong interest in mental health, looking to build a broad and transferable skillset across acute and community settings. We proactively encourage learning and development. Mileage expenses are payable, and pool cars available. - Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
- Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
- Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
- 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 99 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
- Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
