Occupational Therapist

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to undertake strength-based assessment and to provide expertise to residents of Cornwall, Occupational Therapy Assistants and other Social Care Professionals., You will be entering an exciting but changing and challenging work landscape as we move towards multi-disciplinary, locality-based and strengths-based working within Primary Care Network areas with a closer integrated way of working with our Health colleagues.

• You will be involved in completing environmental and functional assessments within a persons home, linking in with reablement and rehabilitation services within your Primary Care Network area as and when needed; assisting with the provision of information and advice; provision of equipment; the recommendation of minor and major adaptations and /or rehousing advice, in order to promote the persons wellbeing and independence.
• Your role will also involve seeking new, creative, innovative, cost-efficient and effective solutions to the persons situation.
• You may also be involved in seating and/or moving and handling assessments, advising on optimal care where appropriate.
• You will need to be innovative with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well under pressure and have an understanding of the six principles of Safeguarding.
• You will be expected to use evidence-based practice to deliver positive outcomes.
