Full Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to make a real, tangible difference in people's lives? If so, we would love to welcome you to our North Kent Community Rehabilitation Service. Our mission is simple yet vital: we provide a flexible, compassionate range of mental health interventions to help clients with complex needs manage their health effectively, regain confidence, and thrive independently in their own homes. How We Work We believe that sustainable recovery requires a community. That's why our team works in close partnership with Social Care and local housing providers, ensuring every client has the wrap-around resources they need to succeed on their rehabilitation journey. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will collaborate alongside a supportive and dedicated group of:

  • Psychologists
  • Nurses
  • Support Workers
  • Fellow Occupational Therapists
  • We are looking for someone who brings energy, adaptability, and a genuinely client-centered approach. While the majority of your time will be spent during standard business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm), our clients' lives don't always stop at 5:00pm. To truly meet them where they are, a degree of flexibility is required for occasional evening or weekend work--all of which is planned and agreed upon well in advance to respect your own work-life balance.,
  • The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
  • To assist in identifying, developing and providing the Occupational Therapy contribution within the multi-disciplinary service in accordance with the needs of service users and the requirements of the rehabilitation service.
  • To assess, plan, deliver and evaluate rehabilitation interventions for service users.
  • To manage a defined caseload of service users with rehabilitation needs that is service user centred, offers hope and adopts NICE Guidance for rehabilitation to promote recovery, better mental and physical health, relapse prevention and skill development.

We are Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust. We care for the mental health and wellbeing of people across Kent and Medway and are rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Our teams support children, young people and adults with a wide range of mental health needs. We also provide specialist services, including all-age eating disorder services and neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people, such as autism and ADHD. Because we work across the whole county and across hospital and community settings, we can make care more joined up and easier to access for the people we serve. Our vision is simple: we are here to help communities not just live with mental illness, but live well. It's why we're passionate about working with communities to make mental health care better for everyone. Everything we do is guided by our values: caring, inclusive, curious and confident. Join us if you share our passion for better mental health care and want to be part of a team that's working well together.
