Full Job Description

To provide Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to service users with a variety of mental and physical health diagnoses within the Rotherham community Mental Health OT Team. You will be working primarily with patients referred into the primary care integrated mental health Hub.,

  • To use effective professional interpersonal skills when discussing assessment and intervention with patients and carers with different levels of comprehension.
  • To refer individuals on to other professionals and agencies as appropriate to their need (e.g. Social Services)
  • To act as an advocate for service users and provide support and advice to their family and carers as appropriate.
  • To liaise closely with other professionals involved in service user care across the RDaSH footprint regarding clinical issues.To follow all Trust policies and protocols.
  • To work without direct supervision and take responsibility for managing own time and caseload and prioritising work within it.
  • To deliver clinical work within a variety of settings e.g. ward based, service user's home, community settings and abide by rules and regulations pertinent to those settings.
  • To manage clinical information in line with the service and Trust information requirements.
  • To contribute to departmental meetings and routines.
  • To document all intervention in patient records in accordance with professional standards and local guidelines
