Full Job Description

Using a strength-based approach, you will work alongside adults with diverse and often complex needs, including those who are elderly and frail, have learning disabilities, physical or sensory impairments, or experience mental ill health, supporting them to live meaningful lives within the community. Both roles involve frontline, holistic occupational therapy practice in a social care setting, completing assessments such as moving and handling risk assessments, and providing interventions ranging from short-term equipment provision to longer-term support., As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will also bring professional experience in assessing for major adaptations and specialised equipment, managing a dedicated caseload, and leading on holistic assessments and care planning. You will work closely with families, carers, care workers, team members and partner agencies to deliver an integrated, community-based service.

  • Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with HCPC.
  • Substantial post-qualification professional experience and experience of providing professional supervision (support and training to further these skills will be provided).
  • Knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice in a social care setting
  • Commitment to your own professional development.
  • Experience of assessing for major adaptations, specialised equipment and completing moving and handling risk assessments
  • Strong professional judgement and confidence in managing risk
  • Your commitment to strengths-based practice and early intervention
  • Your commitment to collaborative working and sharing professional expertise
  • Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long-term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.

    The starting salary for this role is £47,884 per annum, working 36 hours per week. We are hiring a new Senior Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic Connect to Community (C2C) East 1 team. The team is based in Woodhatch Place, 11 Cockshot Hill, Reigate, RH2 8EF and supports residents across East Surrey. Our Offer to You
