Full Job Description
You'll support people recovering from stroke to regain independence, confidence and control in their daily lives. Your work will help individuals and families adapt after life-changing events, making a real difference to recovery and wellbeing. You'll be part of a supportive community stroke team, working alongside therapists, nurses and other professionals. The role matters because it helps people stay safe, active and involved in decisions about their care, both in hospital and at home. You'll be trusted to work autonomously while having access to supervision, learning and development. This is a rare and exciting opportunity, enabling the development of Stroke specialist knowledge and skills, working in a community stroke rehabilitation unit, the unit also provides rehab for intermediate care patients as required, What you'll do:
- Assess people after stroke and plan personalised occupational therapy interventions
- Deliver therapy and advice in hospital and community settings, including people's homes
- Support people and carers with practical strategies, equipment and rehabilitation goals
- Manage and prioritise your own caseload safely and effectively
- Work closely with colleagues and students to support learning and high-quality care
A degree or diploma in occupational therapy with current HCPC registration - Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with people who may have cognitive or communication difficulties
- Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a team
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, learning and professional development
