Full Job Description

Are you about to qualify as an Occupational Therapist and scouring NHS jobs for your first post? Are you already working as a Band 5 and looking for a new challenge or a change of scenery? Then today is your lucky day! We have a vacancy for a Band 5 OT to join our rotation!

We're really proud of our rotation because, alongside areas like medicine, stroke and surgery, we have a number of unique and interesting specialities such as hand therapy, orthotics, neurosurgery and the emergency department. If that wasn't enough we've also recently added critical care to our rotation. There really is something for everyone.

We're really lucky that our trust recognises the value of the therapy workforce and the important work we do to improve our patients functional outcomes.

Main duties of the job

Our Band 5 rotation will give you the opportunity to build on your core OT skills creating solid foundations for the rest of your career. You'll see the OT process from start to finish and be able to further develop your clinical reasoning. The pace is fast and exciting and we promise there'll be no time to be bored.

On a daily basis you'll be attending board rounds, prioritising patients and completing assessments, treatment and discharge planning to increase patient flow. As OT's our main aim is to increase our patients functional independence so we love to complete functional assessments which allow us to problem solve and find new ways for our patients to complete day to day tasks on their own. You'll also be liaising with the multi disciplinary team and working closely with your physiotherapy colleagues and therapy support workers.

We have 10,000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients. Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.

Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.

You'll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you'd never have done. You'll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills & enhance your career path.

You'll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of.
