Full Job Description

Were looking for a fulltime (37.5 hours) Occupational Therapist to join our experienced MSK Primary Care team on a fixedterm contract until 31/03/2027. As the role includes home visits, youll need to be a car driver with access to your own vehicle., This post requires an occupational therapist who is specialised and can work at a high level of practice in primary care. They will use in-depth, expert knowledge, clinical skills, and experience in the management of patients, groups, and communities occupational participation.

The post holder will provide personalised, biopsychosocial occupational therapy interventions from initial clinical assessment, diagnosis, intervention to evaluation. They will provide complex clinical decision-making, and expert care for patients in primary care.

They will have a comprehensive understanding of how to use risk assessment for undifferentiated diagnoses and clinical red flags, including when alternative input is required. They will work collaboratively with the primary care multi-disciplinary team (MDT) across pathways and systems. They will meet the needs of patients and carers, offer digital delivery, and support the delivery of appropriate policy and procedures.They will provide occupational therapy leadership across clinical practice, education, and research.

The focus of this service will be rehabilitation for older adults to stay well at home. There will be the requirement to use risk stratification tools, rapid access, assessment of the home and short-terminterventions including advice on how people can be safely managed. Will also include working into care homes and palliative care, dealing with undifferentiated diagnosis and red flags

Our commitment to professional growth extends to supporting team members through the Roadmap, across all routes whether via the HEI taught route, HEI-supported portfolio route, or the independent portfolio verification process. Additionally, we fully fund external Level 7 MSc courses such as Injection Therapy and Non-Medical Prescribing.
