  • Are you a clinical leader who embraces change and works collaboratively?
  • Do you have a real passion for workforce health and wellbeing?
  • Do you want a role where you can make a meaningful difference every day?
  • Do you have the relevant university accredited occupational health qualification (or working towards)?
  • If so, we would love you to join South Tyneside Council and help us support a healthier, more resilient workforce. What the role will involve? South Tyneside Council are proud to have an in-house Occupational Health service that promotes good health and wellbeing and facilitates support at the right time and in the right way. The role will support the organisation through an exciting period of change and will be integral to leading the Occupational Health service to support the Council's health and wellbeing priorities. This is a senior clinical leadership role in which you will work alongside fellow Senior Occupational Health Nurses to lead a small but dynamic multidisciplinary team. The service comprises in-house Senior Occupational Health Nurses, an Occupational Health Screening Nurse, and a dedicated administrative team, supported by externally contracted Occupational Health Physicians and specialist psychological and physiotherapy services. In addition to overseeing a busy and evolving occupational health service, you will act as the Council's lead expert in occupational health, providing specialist advice and guidance across the organisation. You will take responsibility for managing complex cases, driving clinical excellence, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based occupational health services that support both employees and the wider organisation.

We are looking for someone who possesses the clinical knowledge and expertise, be passionate about workforce health and wellbeing and leading change to modernise working practices. You must be creative and innovative to meet changing workforce needs. You will possess excellent stakeholder management skills, be empathetic and have a collaborative approach to working alongside colleagues to strengthen relationships.

At South Tyneside Council, we are committed to creating a positive, inclusive workplace where our people can thrive. You will join a supportive team and play a pivotal role in improving the health and wellbeing of our workforce. If you are ready to make a real difference, we want to hear from you.
