Full Job Description
This is an exciting career opportunity for a motivated registered nurse to join our occupational health team. This opportunity is open to the rightcandidate which may be new to the specialty or those nurses who are experienced in occupational health. This is an ideal opportunity for keennurses wishing to develop in the specialty.
We are a close and supportive occupational health team based across three sites. Our aim is to deliver a high quality service to the staff membersat Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS foundation Trust delivering the service as well as some external contracts to local health care providers.

Main duties of the job
Assessment of pre-employment health questionnaires and decide on whether the applicant can be given medical clearance to work.
Undertake pre-employment health assessments as required in order to provide the recruiting manager with written advice and guidance on fitness to work or recommend specific modifications to the applicant's working conditions, working hours, or environment
Provide a listening ear for staff who refer themselves to the department, offering advice and signposting to internal or external support agencies
Advise and offer appropriate vaccinations and immunity tests for staff working in clinical areas and actively participate in the flu vaccination campaign.
To undertake the initial assessment and management of sharps injuries sustained by staff and discuss with senior nursing colleagues/Occupational Health Physician when appropriate and in line with department protocols
Ensure that individual's privacy and dignity are respected at all times
Influence and implement change in clinical OH practice.
Update and maintain staff health records ensuring confidentially of records in accordance with the Data Protection Act, Access to Medical Reports Act, and professional guidance
Maintain stock levels/ordering of pharmacy/pathology/NHS supplies
Liaise with other specialists and refer staff when required and as indicated in the Department policies and guidelines
Ensure that the equipment that is used is regularly calibrated, maintained and in working order
