Occupational Health Adviser

We are currently recruiting an experienced Occupational Health Adviser to provide an effective occupational health and wellbeing service across the three Acute Hospitals within the MSE Trust and external organisations, as contracted.

If successful you will actively participate and contribute to the development of a high quality Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service for all staff in the Trust and external organisations.

You will also proactively engage with all stakeholders in order to influence the health and well-being of the organisation and its employees and offer specialist advice on matters relating to occupational health and wellbeing., We are seeking a motivated Occupational Health Adviser with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills to support the delivery of an effective Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust and contracted external organisations. The post holder will provide specialist occupational health advice relating to fitness for work, sickness absence management, rehabilitation, workplace adjustments, immunisation programmes and employee wellbeing.

The role includes undertaking occupational health assessments, management referrals, pre-placement screening, health surveillance activities including audiometry, spirometry, skin surveillance, vision screening and night worker assessments, and interpreting results to identify workplace health risks and appropriate interventions.

The post holder will support infection prevention and control programmes through immunity screening, vaccination programmes and occupational health risk assessments. They will proactively engage with managers, employees, HR colleagues and other stakeholders to promote workforce health, safety and wellbeing.

The role also contributes to service development, audit, quality improvement and clinical governance activities, while maintaining accurate clinical records and delivering evidence-based practice in accordance with NMC standards, relevant legislation and Trust policies.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse or hold Professional Registration, have a OH Diploma or equivalent degree and have experience as an Occupational Health Adviser either in the private sector or at a Band 5 level or above.
