Occasional Lecturer - Prison Education

Do you like working in a challenging but rewarding environment where each day is different and time flies? Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMP Guys Marsh are looking for candidates interested in variable hours, on an ad-hoc basis, who are keen to explore Prison Education. In terms of working hours, this role is on an ad hoc basis so we can accommodate flexibility - but are restricted by the prison regime to a certain degree. We would need you to be able to work full morning or afternoon sessions or full days (Education finish at lunchtime on a Friday so that is always a half day). HMP Guys Marsh are currently looking for individuals with one or more of the below skillsets to support their curriculum delivery.

You will engage prison-based learners with clear explanations, creative resources, and inclusive teaching strategies. Many learners have varied starting points have a diverse range of needs and may have had negative experiences of education in the past. Your role is to inspire confidence, rebuild their relationship with learning, and create a positive, supportive classroom environment. A teaching qualification would be desirable, however those willing to work towards a teaching qualification who hold supporting subject specialism or industry experience would also be considered - we can provide the training to help you achieve your full potential.
