Nutrition Educator for Diabetes

As a key member of the Community Diabetes Service, you will support development and provision of structured patient education, including education of families and carers, for people with Type 2 Diabetes.,

• Supporting development of self-management skills for the person with type 2 diabetes, in liaison with our nurses and dietitians
• Offering encouragement and support to enable the person with type 2 diabetes towards a more active lifestyle, according to their needs and abilities
• Working collaboratively with internal and external agencies; and promoting the service at meetings and events
• Undertaking self-evaluation and administrative duties to support this role.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Nutrition Educator to join our Team. You will deliver engaging education programmes, both face-to-face and online, helping people with type 2 Diabetes develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their condition effectively. Working as part of a friendly multidisciplinary team, you will facilitate group education sessions, provide individualised support, promote lifestyle changes, contribute to service development, and help evaluate and improve our education programmes. We are seeking someone with a recognised qualification in nutrition (or equivalent experience), excellent communication and IT skills, and a genuine interest in diabetes care and health promotion. Experience of delivering training, workshops or group education is an advantage. This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
