Full Job Description
Are you looking for a new challenge and a rewarding progressive career?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, compassionate and enthusiastic Band 3 Nursing Assistant to work within our Neuro Psychiatry inpatient service on Ward 2, Walkergate Park.
The service supports individuals who have Neurological conditions or have sustained a brain injury, who present with a range of mental health, physical, cognitive, communication and emotional problems, and who may be exhibiting challenging behaviour which prevents the individual engaging in other specialist environments. We aim to provide a secure, structured and low stimulation environment that is suitable for people who require assessment and treatment.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for caring, empathetic, enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a passion to improve the lives of individuals who have neurological conditions or brain injury. You must be flexible, adaptive and reliable with excellent communication skills and demonstrate a patient centred approach. An interest in working within Neuro Psychiatry in a challenging but rewarding environment is essential.
You will work shifts, rotating throughout a 24 hour period. You will work in a highly supported environment, and will be provided with training opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills.
We will provide you with a comprehensive induction period and have access to ongoing clinical supervision and appraisal with development review that will provide you with support and the specialist skills required to meet the holistic needs of our patients.
You will be visible and accessible to patients, families and carers working together to ensure efficient, effective safe and caring services. You will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, mutual respect and dignity.
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
NHS Employees identified as at risk of compulsory redundancy and those eligible for the NENC Re-Deployment careers hub will receive prior consideration.
