Nursery Nurse Neonatal Feeding Support and Neonatal Outreach Service

The role entails supporting and empowering women in their choice of infant feeding on the neonatal unit and providing parents/care givers with additional education to support them taking care of their babies in the neonatal unit and beyond. The post-holder will also be expected to support the Neonatal Feeding Advisor with the implementation of UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative and maintain baby friendly standards across NWAFT. The post holder will facilitate and support the transition of care for the neonate and their family from the neonatal unit to home, implementing and evaluating programmes of agreed care and ensuring the provision of a high standard of family centred evidence based care within the neonatal unit and in the community., The appointed Nursery Nurse will become part of the Neonatal Feeding Team and Neonatal Outreach team at NWAFT. The post holder will work across both SCBU at Hinchingbrooke and NICU at Peterborough but will predominately be based on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Peterborough.

Successful Band 4 candidates must hold NNEB/NVQ Level 3 Childcare or equivalent and have a keen interest in the specialty of Neonatal Nursing.
