The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust has launched a significant investment in its Cancer Services workforce over the last few years. The additional staff will ensure the service is fit for purpose to provide ongoing excellent care and the roll-out of new technologies and services.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to work within the oncology team as a nurse specialist for lung cancer and support the development of the lung surgical pathway. We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team. You will be working closely with the clinical nurse specialists for lung cancer, oncology consultants, surgical teams at Derriford and the team in the Sunrise centre and other colleagues across the Trust. This role plays a pivotal part within this service, including meeting the needs of lung cancer patients receiving anti-cancer therapy and providing seamless holistic care., As a role model for cancer nursing practice, you will develop skills to assess, manage and treat patients, as well as working towards supporting and leading on the introduction of new initiatives and pathways. You will have post-registration experience in oncology / haematology/ palliative care or relevant speciality.

Within this role you will be required to develop the skills of clinical leadership, managing change and have knowledge of managing resources, people and situations effectively, whilst keeping a clam head in a challenging environment.

This is a part time position (22.5 hours per week)
