Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner with an interest in Foot and Ankle care to join our expanding Trauma and Orthopaedics service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly specialised team delivering expert assessment, treatment, and coordinated care for patients with Foot and Ankle conditions across elective and trauma pathways., As our Nurse Practitioner for our Foot and Ankle team, you will:

Run independent and joint specialist clinics, providing advanced assessment, diagnostics review, patient education, and tailored management plans.

Lead nurse-led follow-up pathways for elective and trauma Foot & Ankle patients.

Provide expert wound, cast/immobilisation, and post-operative care advice in collaboration with plaster/orthopaedic technicians--mirroring MDT structures seen in current Foot & Ankle units.

Support pre-operative optimisation and post-operative recovery, ensuring smooth transitions across the patient journey.

Coordinate care with consultants, physiotherapists, podiatrists, and orthotists to ensure timely, high-quality treatment.

Contribute to service development within a subspecialty where Foot & Ankle clinical posts are rapidly evolving across UK orthopaedic services.

Participate in audit, research, clinical governance, and pathway improvement.

You musthave a current British Orthopaedic Association casting qualification certificate (BOA Level 5).

Working across both University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough in out-patients, and on the wards, making a valuable contribution to the multi-disciplinary team looking after trauma and orthopaedic patients pre and post operatively.
