Full Job Description
We are pleased to offer a great secondment opportunity for a committed and motivated B6 mental health practitioner. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use evidence based crisis intervention skills to support clients in mental health crisis and work collaboratively with clients and their carers to access ongoing support in the community if required. The successful candidate will be based at The Wilson Hospital in Mitcham and will be expected to work a combination of early and late shifts including weekends. In addition to the benefits of working as part of a multi disciplinary team, the successful candidate will be a confident and autonomous mental health clinician with good communication and organisational skills. An ability to prioritize competing tasks will be important however you will be part of a supportive team of skilled and experienced mental health practitioners. A car owner is essential for navigating around the respective geographical areas.

Main duties of the job
- Assessing client's health and social care needs who present in acute crisis.
- Completing risk assessments and risk management plans.
- Participating in daily multi disciplinary meetings.
- Acting as a team champion to develop and audit specific areas of the team's work.
- co-ordinating effective gate keeping assessments when needed.
- providing a range of bio/psycho/social interventions for service users and carers
- planning for a robust, sustainable discharge as well as sufficient aftercare
- Completing collaborative care and crisis care plans with clients and their carers.
- Leading shifts, involving fair delegation of work to colleagues.
- Maintaining professional registration and keeping abreast of relevant mental health policy and evidence based mental health interventions.
