'Internal Applicants Only' - 9 month Secondment (37.5 hours a week), The post holder will have 24-hour responsibility for the effective and efficient operational day to day management of the department, including budget control, clinical governance, staff development and training. The post holder is professionally accountable for themaintenance of standards of professional and standards of care. They will provide professional clinical leadership within a defined area and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members within the multi-disciplinary team., Carry overall responsibility for the organisation and management of the department, including the supervision of students. Be professionally accountable for the maintenance of standards and professional practice as set by the NMC Code of Professional Standards of practice and behaviour and relevant professional guidelines. Function as a competent clinical practitioner within the discharge Lounge. Deliver direct patient care whilst, co-ordinating and overseeing nursing practice Provide professional clinical leadership within a defined area and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members within the multi-disciplinary team. Provide a positive, respectful working environment for colleagues: acting as a compassionate leader with a focus on the health and wellbeing, engagement and development of all colleagues Undertake and supervise clinical practice, audit, research and teaching to set, monitor and continuously improve standards of care and patient experience. The post holder is accountable for safe, effective clinical practice managing and developing team performance, managing a devolved budget ensuring efficient and effective use of physical and human resources. To lead, manage and develop team performance, promote professionalism and trust. Ensure the promotion and implementation of flexible and family friendly working in accordance with trust policies. Active promotion of the Trusts visions, values and divisional objectives. Ensure effective succession planning at all Bands.
Exciting development opportunity for a 9 month secondment covering the Band 7 Senior Nurse role in Discharge Lounge. The successful candidate will lead a team that are passionate about supporting our patients through to the final stages of the discharge process. We are looking for a dynamic, proactive and compassionate leader with strong clinical credibility. Who can embrace change, inspire others and manage a fast paced environment with the constant ability to problem solve. The ability to demonstrate the highest levels of communication skills across a wide range of multi disciplinary teams and service users is essential.,
- Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Adult) or equivalent with substantial post registration experience
- Recognised Nursing Degree or equivalent including a recognised Teaching Qualification, Personally resilient and able to manage complexity and work in an ambiguous or changing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Acts as a role model and are able to lead by example to ensure the Trust's values and behaviours are reinforced throughout their area of practice
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of Safeguarding policies and procedures
- Able to effectively and appropriately escalate concerns to reduce risk and promote patient safety
- Demonstrates ability to question and challenge nursing practice in a constructive way so that standards of patient care are continually evaluated and improved
- Understand and be committed to good record keeping using the Trusts electronic and paper methods, Experience of working in an acute environment
- Professional Portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration
- Demonstrable current, recent experience of team leadership and management within the healthcare setting.
- Demonstrable understanding of the management responsibility for pay and non-pay resources associated with the clinical service.
