Non-Executive Director - Commercial and Finance

Swim England, based in Loughborough, isseeking an experienced Non-Executive Director - Commercial and Finance with strong commercial and financial expertise to join the Swim England Trading Board.

• Initial 4-Year Term (With Possibility of a Second 4-Year Term), We are seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director with strong commercial and financial expertise to join the Swim England Trading Board.
You will provide independent oversight, strategic insight and constructive challenge, contributing to the company's commercial performance, financial sustainability and long-term development. Working with the Chair and Senior Executive Lead, you will help the Board evaluate opportunities, manage risk and make informed decisions about business growth and investment., In this role, you will:
• Fulfil the legal responsibilities of a company Director.
• Contribute to organisational strategy, governance and Board decision-making.
• Monitor commercial performance, financial sustainability and key risks.
• Provide guidance on commercial strategy, income generation and business development.
• Help the Board assess commercial and financial opportunities and risks.
• Contribute to discussions on pricing, product development, customer value and market positioning.
• Provide insight into financial performance, budgeting and forecasting.
• Support the effective allocation and use of resources.
• Evaluate significant investments and commercial initiatives.
• Bring an external perspective on market trends, customer needs and growth opportunities.
• Support and constructively challenge the Chair and Senior Executive Lead.
• Balance commercial ambition with Swim England's wider purpose.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation's work., This is a voluntary appointment for an initial four-year term, with the possibility of a second four-year term.
The expected commitment is approximately half a day per month, including four online Board meetings each year, preparation, engagement with the Senior Executive Lead and occasional stakeholder representation. Travel and accommodation expenses will be paid in accordance with Swim England policy.

We are looking for someone with:
• Senior commercial, financial or business leadership experience.
• Experience developing and delivering commercial growth strategies.
• A strong understanding of financial performance and organisational sustainability.
• Experience evaluating commercial opportunities, risks and investment decisions.
• The ability to provide strategic challenge and insight into business performance and growth.
• An understanding of the responsibilities of a company Director, Trustee or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills and sound independent judgement.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• High standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to challenge appropriately.
