Full Job Description
As a Night Shift Supervisor, you'll be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the warehouse, with a focus on efficiency and compliance with operational standards. Supporting all areas of the warehouse, you will report directly to the Depot Manager. You'll excel under pressure, delivering results while adapting quickly to challenges. With a focus on driving operational success, you'll work to enhance the customer experience and step in to cover managerial duties when needed. Additionally, you'll be responsible for overseeing the 3rd party logistics operation, ensuring smooth coordination and timely execution of all logistics functions.,
- Complete incident reporting accurately and in a timely manner.
- Supervise and delegate daily task to ensure efficient operations.
- Be responsible for checking 3rd Party outbound and loads.
- Oversee the quality management of all tasks performed.
- Escalate stock, equipment and operational issues raised by the operational team.
- Monitor and report MHE equipment maintenance issues to the appropriate departments or management.
- Build, plan and oversee daily teams' schedules, ensuring task allocation aligns with operational needs and targets.
- Take responsibility for managing the correct processing of any inbound stock.
- Complete stock checks and ensure that stock is managed accurately.
- Raise and report equipment maintenance issues to the appropriate department or management.
- Provide detailed daily handovers to Shift Manager.
- Compile and provide daily handovers to the shift manager to ensure smooth transition and operation
- Be prepared to cover other operational management roles when required to maintain workflow.
- Recognise and appreciate staff contributions by issuing thank you cards.
- Administer documented discussions to support employee development and compliance.
- Conduct alcohol testing procedures in accordance with company policies.
- Manage and oversee informal Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) processes.
- Manage informal welfare processes to ensure staff well-being.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing constructive feedback.
- Conduct investigations into operational or staff-related concerns as needed.
- Oversee the safe operation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and ensure necessary safety interventions are in place.
- Manage and approve Holidays (up to 14 days) for the operation.
Ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals. - Strong time management skills to ensure task are completed efficiently
- Confident in people management, with a fair and consistent approach
- Effective communicator at all levels, both within the team and across departments
- Highly organised and methodical in task execution
- Solid understanding of all operational departments within the warehouse
- Calm and focused under pressure, able to make decision quickly.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to find solutions independently,
- Proficient in Microsoft office and warehouse management software.
- Skilled in managing daily performance metrics.
- Proven experience in leading a motivating a diverse team
- Strong understanding of HR processes and how to apply them.
- Experience working under tight deadlines to achieve operational goals.
- Adaptable to fluctuating workloads and able to manage priorities effectively.
