Summary
Join a team that feels like family.
Quiet hours. Real care. Work that means something.
We're looking for a Night Healthcare Assistant to work at one of our care homes. We want someone who brings calm, kindness and presence. Someone who knows how to help people feel safe and settled, even in the small hours.
Nights are quieter, but the care is just as important. You might help someone into bed, offer reassurance, or simply sit with someone who doesn't want to be alone.
If you're reliable, gentle and want meaningful work with a team that supports you, we'd love to hear from you.
Why You'll Love Working Here

- Earn while you learn with fully funded qualifications
- Grow your career with support every step of the way
- Enjoy free snacks, drinks and meals on shift
- Take paid breaks and get a free uniform throughout your time here
- Access to the Vivup Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for confidential wellbeing support
- Discounted ferry travel to make commuting easier and more affordable
- Leisure membership discounts to support your health and wellbeing
- Free snacks and drinks available while on shift
- Attendance bonus of an extra 50p per hour when all contracted shifts are worked each month (T&Cs apply)
- Enhancements paid for weekends, nights & NVQ's/Diplomas
What Your Night Could Look Like
- Nights are peaceful but important. Here's what your shift might include:
- Help residents settle in with warmth, dignity and care
- Check in gently and respond to any needs overnight
- Offer quiet comfort such as a drink, a pillow, or a kind word
- Keep rooms clean and restful with fresh sheets, light snacks and calm spaces
- Support residents who wake or need help to rest
- Write clear handover notes so everyone stays in the loop
What We'd Love You to Bring
- You don't need experience. Just the right attitude. We'll teach you the rest.
- You're calm, patient and dependable, especially in quiet moments
- You treat people with dignity and kindness, no matter the hour
- You're a good listener with a gentle, reassuring presence
- You enjoy working quietly as part of a close-knit team
- You're happy to learn and open to feedback

What Makes Island Healthcare Different
We're a family-run company, and we treat our staff and residents with the same care we'd want for our own families.
For over 20 years, we've been part of life on the Island. We've built trust by doing the right things, the right way. That's why many of our team stay for years: they feel respected and proud of the work they do.
Our homes feel like just that. Homes. They're welcoming, well-run, and full of people who care.
So if you want to do real work that matters, with people who truly care, we'd love to hear from you.
