Neurology Nurse Specialist- Neuropsychiatry

• To assess, review treatment, to inpatients referred to the liaison neuropsychiatry service in the Walton Centre as well as spoke units at Broadgreen Rehabilitation Unit and Elyn Lodge, St Helens and outpatients referred to the Neuropsychiatry Specialist Nurse Clinic ( follow up).
• To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring agreed interventions are employed and advise medical, therapist and nursing staff on optimal management of patients with mental health needs in general neurosurgical/neurology and rehabilitation units.
• To participate and organise sessions of education and training of management of mental health and brain injury problems in the Walton Centre and rehabilitation units.
• You will be accountable for your own professional actions, not directly supervised, and receive clinical supervision.
  
  You will be responsible for working autonomously and should be clinically capable and competent.
The successful candidate needs to possess excellent theoretical and practical knowledge and experience of Neuropsychiatry, be clinically competent to undertake clinical examination and should be a non-medical prescriber. The successful postholder should have excellent communication skills, a 'can do' attitude, be driven and possess a passion for driving services forward.
