Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Network Technology Consultant on a 6 months fixed term contract basis to support the ongoing evolution of our network. In this role you will support the technology decision making processes, crafting and evaluating major investment proposals associated with key network and technology platforms. You'll be responsible for providing an internal technical strategy consultancy service to help craft the future of our network by working with key architecture, engineering, and planning functions (as well as vendors) to provide high level options, costs, and lead times at the concept evaluation/directional steer stage., The role will involve collaborating closely with finance teams, supporting the development of investment cases, ensuring that costs and benefits are measurable, robust, and that all viable options have been considered. This strategic direction influences hundreds of millions of capital spend within the UK fixed network.

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience:

  • A strong, proven technical knowledge of the fixed network
  • Experience pulling together domain roadmaps across different engineering functions
  • Advanced level skills in Excel
  • Experience creating technical briefing packs
  • A track record of innovation and driving service and customer experience improvements across the Access Network, Experience in developing architectural solutions within a Tier 1 carrier class network, specifically to support network access products.
  • Technical expert in PON technology encompassing passive and logical FTTP architecture principles, including L2 Aggregation, XGSPON, OLTs and BNGs, with a focus on virtualisation
  • Experience with and / or good theoretical knowledge of emerging technologies such as SR-MPLS
