Job Description

The Network Operations Engineers is accountable for the successful operations and support of the Client Network and underlying infrastructure. The selected individual will be part of a national team providing support to the Accenture Aero & Defence Space client both nationally and internationally.

The Network Engineer's role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house data, LAN & WAN, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. The individual will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of network hardware, software, and communication links. They will analyze and resolve hardware and software network issues by engaging in client Service Management processes, ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute in-depth technical activities.


• Influence the direction of activities and provide technical insight and guidance.


• Investigate and help resolve issues with the customer's network and IT environment using agreed troubleshooting methodologies.


• Manage support cases to enable fast resolution beyond customer expectations.


• Ensure accurate recording of cases using the company's ticket management system and close tickets within agreed timeframes.


• Use the central document repository for knowledge sharing and best practice.


• Support and take ownership of ad-hoc projects to enhance the capabilities of the Service Centre.


• Contribute to team knowledge sharing through documentation and team meetings.


• Participate in on-call and shift rota as this is an onsite role.

Skills & Experience

• Experience within information security/technology focused on networking.


• Knowledge of Cisco switching & wireless, Cisco Security including ASA firewalls and ISE.


• Cisco certification such as Cisco CCNP or multiple CCNA certifications in network technologies/areas.


• Proven experience in incident management, service request management, and problem solving.


• Experience with ticketing systems and monitoring/management tools.


• Effective communication skills and ability to build client relationships.


• Ability to meet deadlines and SLA targets.


• Ownership mindset to see issues/tasks through to completion.


• ITIL qualification is desirable.


• Full clean driving license is preferable.


• Palo Alto experience, Checkpoint experience, Firewall Orchestration experience.
