Job Description
Are you a qualified electrician or someone with electrical industry experience looking for the next step in your career? At Energy Assets, we're growing our Electricity Networks team and are looking for motivated individuals who want to develop specialist skills while working on critical UK electricity infrastructure.

The Role
As a Network Operative, you'll support the inspection, maintenance and operation of our electricity distribution network.
Working both independently and alongside experienced colleagues, you'll help maintain substations, underground cable networks and associated electrical assets while learning the specialist skills required to become a fully qualified Network Engineer.
This role combines independent inspection work with planned maintenance, fault response and network operations carried out as part of a two-person team.
Full training and ongoing development will be provided.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out inspections of LV electricity network assets
- Supporting maintenance of substations, underground cables and associated equipment
- Identifying and reporting network defects
- Installing monitoring equipment
- Assisting with fault response and network restoration
- Supporting planned maintenance and connection works
- Assisting with cable jointing activities under the supervision of experienced Network Engineers
- Producing inspection reports and technical documentation
- Working safely in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations
- Participating in an on-call rota following training
About You
We're looking for practical, safety-conscious people who enjoy working outdoors, solving problems and developing new technical skills.
You'll have:
- A recognised electrical qualification (or relevant electrical experience)
- Full UK driving licence
- Good fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong commitment to health and safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
The following would be an advantage but aren't essential:
- Experience working within electricity distribution or utilities
- Electrical installation or maintenance experience
- Experience with switching operations
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of electricity network operations
