Full Job Description
We're looking for a Network Engineer to take ownership of a complex, multi-site enterprise network supporting critical matchday, broadcast and business operations. This is not just a BAU support role. You'll play a key part in modernising our network estate; improving resilience, performance and security across stadium, office and remote environments.What you'll be doingOwn and improve a multi-site network estate (Anfield, offices, remote sites)Lead resolution of high-impact incidents (connectivity, Wi-Fi, performance)Drive improvements in:Network resilience and failoverWi-Fi performance and user experienceSD-WAN and site connectivityWork across LAN / WAN / Wi-Fi / firewalls to deliver end-to-end solutionsPartner with infrastructure, security and application teams to improve service qualityIdentify recurring issues and implement permanent fixes (not workarounds)Support ongoing transition to modern, secure network architectureWhat we're looking forWe're interested in engineers
who:Have experience supporting complex, multi-site enterprise networksHave experience in migrating from a traditional network to an SD WANAre comfortable across:Routing & switching (Cisco / equivalent)Firewalls (e.g. Fortinet, Palo Alto)Wireless networks (enterprise Wi-Fi)Understand modern networking concepts, such as:SD-WANZero Trust / SASENetwork segmentationCan lead incidents and problem resolution, not just follow ticketsTake a proactive, ownership mindset to improving servicesCan communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersNice to have (but not essential)Experience in broadcast, media or high-availability environmentsExposure to cloud networking (Azure / AWS)Network automation / scripting awarenessVendor certifications (CCNA/CCNP or equivalent)What success looks likeNetwork issues identified and resolved before users raise ticketsImproved Wi-Fi and connectivity performance across key sitesClear, measurable improvements in resilience and failoverStrong
