The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care of infants, within the low dependency, high dependency and intensive care area.
To develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care without supervision and in collaboration with others to meet the needs of infants and their families.
Assist in the management and organisation of the unit and participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members and students. Newly qualified nurses will be expected with training and experience to develop into this role over a period of time., To work as a member of the team providing specialist care to infants. Assess the patients nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in order to ensure the delivery of effective patient care using a family centred approach to care. To be responsible for the organisation of a caseload of infants while on duty., Will, with experience, be required to take charge of a clinical area within the Unit including delegation and supervision of junior staff. Undertake delegated line management responsibilities. To communicate with all nursing and medical colleagues, multi-disciplinary team both internal and external, e.g. social services, health visitors.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
