Full Job Description
The Non-Clinical Support Worker (Band 2) is a member of the Neonatal Unit team who supports qualified professionals by undertaking non-patient-related duties. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, organised, and well-stocked clinical environment, contributing to the smooth running of the unit and supporting high standards of care delivery.,
- To assist in the creation of a pleasant unit atmosphere and a clean, tidy and safe unit environment. To ensure used equipment are cleaned and stored in the appropriate area such as incubators to be dismantled, cleaned, reassembled and stored away appropriately. To keep dirty utility room clean and tidy. To complete daily and weekly audits and ensure the weekly cleaning schedule is adhered to. To damp dust designated areas in the unit on every shift. To check biweekly that the donor expressed breast milk is in date in the freezer record findings and inform Sister in charge if stock is low and needs topping up. To check and record refrigerator and freezer temperature daily and to report any deviation from normal findings to the nurse in charge. To ensure that freezers and refrigerators are cleaned regularly and as required. To ensure milk/linen/storage cupboards and storage room is tidy and clean. To ensure all ward supplies such as syringes/gloves, etc are stocked up adequately. To ensure non ward stock are stocked up to an agreed level and to inform nurse in charge if stock item is low. To ensure there are admission packs (trays with accessories and admission documents) set up in readiness for admissions.
