Neonatal Governance Lead

We are looking to appoint a permanent Governance Lead for the Neonatal ICU at the Royal London Hospital. As the Neonatal Governance lead, the post holder will be responsible in leading investigations of serious incidents, producing and monitoring action plans. He/ She will also be responsible for leading on continuous improvement of service quality to promote an environment of excellence with the highest standards of care. Develop, implement and monitor quality improvement projects to meet national and local neonatal standards. Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to foster a positive safety and learning culture., Promote a culture where clinical governance and patient safety are integrated into the care and wellbeing of all patients, staff and families, promoting a culture of participation, openness, and accountability.

Support staff and guide them in the management of incidents and complaints, promoting reflection on practice and disseminating learning.

Lead on the implementation and management of change in response to learning from incidents, ensuring that any necessary actions are taken to prevent similar incidents occurring.

Ensure the appropriate level of investigation is undertaken in response to incidents, reflecting the severity of incidents.

Ensure incident reporting via relevant Trust and national governance pathways.

Ensure the Trust Neonatal Safety Champion is kept up to date.

Report to and participate in, relevant Trust and Network level Governance and Risk meetings.
