Full Job Description
The Deputy Matron works alongside the Neonatal Matron with the aim to support and develop the outstanding Neonatal services at UCLH. The Neonatal team work within the UCLH Perinatal Team to provide collaborative care to babies and families who are cared for within our services. This role is both managerial and clinical, therefore would appeal to those for strive to maintain clinical skills whilst gaining/building on managerial skills. There are an extensive range of opportunities for you to further your career for progression, including complex deliveries, exposure to babies requiring ITU care, involvement in governance, quality improvement projects and research, You will have the opportunity to support students and nurses undergoing their qualified in specialty course, and engage with a wide MDT to support families, promote family integrated care, and provide high quality care. You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, motivated multidisciplinary team working within a centre of excellence for neonatal and maternity care., The post holder provides forward-thinking clinical and professional leadership to nursing Team at all levels within the Neonatal unit and Transitional care ensuring nursing care is delivered to a high standard and that the nursing resource is managed effectively. The post holder will have primary responsibility for timely rostering and all associated requirements including temporary staffing within the department.With the support of Human Resources the post holder will be required to undertake responsibilities in relation to performance management, employee led complaints and all associated HR process in accordance with Trust policy.The post holder contributes to the ongoing implementation of the nursing and midwifery strategy, ensuring achievement of its objectives and proactively modernising midwifery and nursing roles in accordance with the needs of service users and service requirements.They will be responsible for maintaining quality, performance, service improvement and transformation and play a key role in the progression of initiatives to further improve Neonatal services.They will work collaboratively with a focus on providing highly visible and credible clinical leadership, to ensure that the patient experience within the Neonatal Services is of the highest possible standard at all times ensuring that this is fairly and accurately reflected within the patient feedback, friends and family quality metrics... continued below...
