Neighbourhood Housing Officer

We're looking for a customer-focused Neighbourhood Housing Officer to deliver high-quality housing management services to our tenants and leaseholders across North Northamptonshire. In this varied and rewarding role, you'll be the first point of contact for many residents, helping to create safe, sustainable communities and providing support on a wide range of tenancy matters. You'll manage tenancy and leasehold issues, support income collection and arrears recovery, tackle anti-social behaviour, oversee estate management, and help customers sustain their tenancies. You'll also play a key role in improving customer satisfaction, increasing resident engagement, and ensuring our communities remain great places to live. Working as part of our Housing Management Team, you'll build positive relationships with customers and partners, champion excellent service delivery, and support colleagues by providing cover across the team when required.What will you be doing? As a Housing Officer, you'll deliver a high-quality, customer-focused housing management service to tenants and leaseholders across North Northamptonshire. You'll provide advice, guidance and support on a wide range of housing matters, helping residents make informed decisions and sustain successful tenancies. This varied role covers all aspects of housing management, including tenancy management, estate management, income recovery, anti-social behaviour, property and void management, and customer engagement. You'll work proactively to resolve issues, improve customer satisfaction, and contribute to the continuous improvement of housing services, ensuring our neighbourhoods remain safe, sustainable and welcoming places to live., Our values define who we are and how we operate, by forming the foundation for how we interact with our customers, colleagues and provide our services. • Min GCSE X 5 incl Maths and English or equivalent
• CertCIH - Membership Achieved = CIH Qualification or Equivalent Level 3 or above.
• Experience of working with a local authority or registered provider in a similar role. Minimum 3 years.
• Knowledge of the housing legislation, regulation and case law.
• Understanding county court possession claims procedures.
• Experience of working with people who may find themselves in difficult situations and who may have multiple/complex needs including challenging behaviours.
• Experience of managing and prioritising own workload without supervision to meet demands and targets.
• Effective partnership working skills to achieve positive outcomes for tenants and leaseholders.
• Excellent interviewing and negotiation skills to achieve solution-focused outcomes.
• Ability to explain complex matters clearly to achieve a positive outcome.
• Able to produce clear, concise, and persuasive written reports on complex issues.
• Good analytical skills and ability to produce and interpret statistical information.
• Ability to successfully operate in a multi-disciplinary and multi-functional environment.
• Excellent interviewing, file note taking, negotiation and compromising skills to achieve solution-focused outcomes.
• Able to produce clear, concise, factual and persuasive written letters and reports.
• Excellent IT and keyboard skills.
