Full Job Description
You will provide sole care for both girls across two days each week, managing their shared routine while meeting Jemima's additional medical needs, including NG tube feeding and supporting her treatment plan. Community nurses visit twice weekly, and you will assist by preparing equipment, comforting Jemima and supporting the nursing team. Full training, including NG feeding, will be provided. During nap time, there is time for a lunch break and light child-related duties., A rewarding opportunity to support two wonderful twin girls while gaining specialist complex care experience. You'll work alongside an experienced community nursing team, receive full training and become part of a warm, welcoming family. There is potential for the role to continue beyond October with additional hours.
- Complex healthcare experience with infants/toddlers.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Enhanced DBS.
- Excellent safeguarding knowledge.
- High standards of hygiene and infection control.
- Immunity to chickenpox and measles (through infection or vaccination) due to the child's compromised immune system. Desirable:
- Experience caring for twins.
- Healthcare or paediatric clinical background.
- Experience supporting children with complex medical needs.
- NG/tube feeding experience (training provided).
- Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (or equivalent)., An experienced nanny, complex care nanny, children's nurse, paediatric healthcare assistant or childcare professional who enjoys working with babies. You will be calm, organised, reliable and confident following routines, with excellent safeguarding awareness and infection control standards.
Start Date: ASAP to October (with potential to extend) Days & Hours: 2 days per week, Wednesday & Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm (flexibility on days for the right candidate). Recruiter Contact: Jade About this child/client Jemima and Sarah are delightful twin girls approaching their first birthday. Both are happy, smiley and love interactive play. Jemima is currently receiving treatment for liver cancer (hepatoblastoma), including chemotherapy, an NG tube for nutrition and a central line. Despite her treatment, she is a bright, playful little girl who enjoys the same routines and activities as her sister. Sarah is an active, fun-loving toddler who thrives alongside Jemima. The family also have an older daughter who attends nursery, so this role focuses solely on the twins.
