Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Safeguarding team as a Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children within the Trust.

The post holder will lead the Safeguarding Children's work streams within the Trust and facilitate and develop multi-professional / interagency working and training in respect of Safeguarding Children.

The post holder will work with the wider safeguarding team and be responsible for the line management of the Safeguarding Practitioners for Children . As the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children you will ensure that there are robust internal policies and guidance in place, and will act as a focal point for the dissemination of information in relation to policy, procedures and training. The Named Nurse for Children will develop professional safeguarding standards and promote best practice. They will be accessible and visible across Trust areas and support colleagues with accurate and relevant information to enhance safeguarding knowledge and support risk escalation.

To lead on Safeguarding Children workstreams and develop safe pathways alongside the partnership.

To develop, maintain and evaluate a training programmes.

To support colleagues managing complex safeguarding situations to enhance their development, competence and confidence in the management of Safeguarding children cases.

To access legal advice when appropriate and ensure all case escalation are shared and discussed with the Deputy Head or Head of Safeguarding.

Undertake regular audit activity.

Maintain current databases, ensuring responses to any emerging themes are identified and actions are taken.

Participate in committees, forums and meetings as identified by the Deputy Head or Head of Safeguarding.
