Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust is pleased to announce the development and introduction of this new role. The post will be a combination of service delivery and educational input within the specialty.
These posts are not recognised UK training posts. However, the post-holders will have a named supervisor and be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities within the Trust and specialties.
An Introduction to the Division / Specialty from Dr Nigel Artis - Divisional Clinical Director
The department of Clinical Neurophysiology is based at Pinderfields Hospital and serves the populations of Wakefield, Dewsbury, Pontefract, Barnsley and South Leeds as well as receiving referrals from further afield.
The department has 5 clinical recording rooms, as well as office and other space. It is staffed by 2 Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologists, 1 Clinical Service Manager and 4 experienced Neurophysiology Technicians who undertake a wide range of investigations.
The department has a range of neurophysiology machines including Dantec Keypoint, Viking Select and XLTEK. It is looking to develop an innovative approach to video telemetry and the successful candidate would be encouraged to help with this development.
The department is busy and offers a wide range of services delivered by the whole team including over 4000 NCS/EMGs and 1000 EEGs per year., Support the Consultant and Clinical Physiologists in the department, seeing outpatients and inpatients.
To perform and/or report on Nerve Conduction studies/EMG, EEGs and Evoked potentials studies following a period of training.
