Safeguarding training is mandatory for all employees and will form part of your induction and ongoing CPD.

The Music Production and Performance department are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Technician to support our students, and the management of our music tech and studio resources.

Candidates should have industry experience to support a range of music production technical skills, including live music production skills, that will help assist students in their productions of practical projects, while embedding professional practices and industry techniques, supporting the wider teaching team to induct, coach and monitor the effective use and management of SSC music production and studio resources.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic musician with strong background in technical aspects of live performance and production to work alongside our teaching team to bring out the confidence and creativity of our students, in a supportive environment, helping to drive the professionalism of our students towards future opportunities in the industry.

The successful applicant should ideally have supporting qualifications either in music production or music performance / musicianship skills or relevant industry experience, alongside ideally a proven track record of working with students to support, inspire and motive, while ensuring the technical needs of the department are met.

What you can expect from us - we care about your wellbeing so have several activities all year that provide support. However, time off is also important. We have a range of benefits available to all staff including paid time off for emergencies (designed to support carers) and all our policies are enhanced further than statutory requirements. The College also contributes to your pension at a minimum of 17.9% (we contribute more for people in the Local Government Pension Scheme).
