Full Job Description

At NHP, we are seeking an inspiring and dynamic musician to join us. You will be a teacher who has creativity, energy, and a genuine commitment to the role and the NHP community. The successful candidate will have a clear passion for music education and will play a full and active part in the life of the school.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic advocate for music, able to inspire pupils of all abilities, contribute positively to the wider school community, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and visiting music staff. They will also be an excellent pianist able to lead on the school's musical development and build on the existing brilliant provision.

NHP is proud to be a 'Thinking School', reflecting our commitment to developing resilient, creative and responsible learners. We believe in teaching children not just what to learn, but how to learn. The successful candidate will share and actively promote these values.

We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, a professional approach, a warm and approachable manner, and a willingness to contribute fully to school life.

This role involves working closely with children and constitutes 'regulated activity'.

The salary will be competitive and dependent on experience. We offer a defined contribution pension scheme and free school lunches.

Please tick the 'Apply' button to submit your application form.

The closing date for completed applications is 9:00 am on Friday, 15th May 2026, although early applications are encouraged and may be interviewed before the interview date of Thursday, 19th May 2026. Shortlisted candidates can expect to have an interview and to teach an observed lesson.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974), and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are 'spent' unless they are 'protected' under the DBS filtering rules) to assess their suitability to work with children.

The salary will be competitive and dependent on experience. We offer a defined contribution pension scheme and free school lunches.
