  • 2 Days a Year to Volunteer, We have an opportunity at Baxter to join us as a Multisite Engineer in our Compounding team. This area of the business manufactures life saving products such as chemotherapy and nutrition. You will conduct, coordinate and manage equipment related maintenance and improvement activity, across UK Compounding sites (Thetford, Stockport, Croydon and Oxford) so that equipment availability, reliability and capability is continuously improved.
  • You will ensure all equipment is calibrated and maintained in compliance with the requirements of cGMP, FDA, ISO13485 and EHS Legislation. An average week would be monday - friday 37.5 hours however we do require a level of flexibility to accommodate out of hours breakdowns and planned maintenance. You will receive overtime/time in lieu for this as arranged with your manager/your preference. The role is Field Based and therefore the candidate can expect to spend up to 50% of their time travelling to Compounding sites, primarily in the UK, but also with the possibility of European travel. In this role you will work with multi functional teams so we are searching for someone with excellent communication skills and above all someone with a willingness to learn. Experience in engineering is essential however we appreciate this looks different for every candidate. You might have just finished an engineering apprenticeship and are looking for the next step in your career or you may already be a Field Engineer looking for a change.   • Demonstrate a Safety first approach to every single aspect of the role
  • Lead trouble shooting, fault finding & resolution to root cause of compounding related plant and equipment
  • Lead shutdown planning and execution, inclusive of shutdown and start up activities.
  • Heavy focus on reliability of plant and equipment, working relentlessly to ensure that plant availability & OEE metrics are continuously improved
  • To deliver best in class equipment availability and reliability through reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • To plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of all critical equipment within the Compounding Units
  • To direct and co-ordinate the engineering activities associated with critical Compounding plant and equipment, managing contractors, service providors, installation engineers etc..
  • To coordinate and direct engineering projects associated to the Compounding Units such that they are completed on time and within budget.
  • To perform administrative functions, review and write reports, and make decisions on the purchase of parts, equipment and services
  • Team member and Project Manager for the delivery of the Site Project portfolios.
  • Management of external contractors in line with EHS safe systems of work.
  • Review of contractors day sheets to enable accuracy of information, problem resolution and cost effectiveness, Meet Anwesha - recently promoted to Manager, she leads a team of software engineers for our Medication Delivery business.

  • Innovative, A Craft Apprenticeship (& HNC preferred) in Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering is required.
  • Full UK driving license is required
  • Good level of experience of maintaining electrical and mechanical plant and equipment.

  • Experience in an engineering/field role
  • Cleanroom / aseptic manufacturing practical work would be an advantage or an understanding of this area
  • Strong communication and computer literacy skills.
  • Experience of operating within maintenance and project engineering functions.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementation of continuous improvement activities.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementation of engineering best practice
