Multidisciplinary Therapy Assistant

Working as part of the Children and Young People's Integrated Therapy Service, you will support the delivery of a preventative, consultative model that strengthens inclusive practice across education settings. You will work alongside Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists to help education providers implement strategies that reduce barriers to learning, participation, communication and independence.

This varied role involves supporting observations, modelling strategies, developing resources, assisting with training delivery and helping education staff embed inclusive approaches within everyday practice.

The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and an excellent communicator, with experience of working with children and young people and a commitment to inclusion. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing countywide service that is making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people across Buckinghamshire.

As a MDT Assistant within the Experts at Hand programme, you will support Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists to deliver consultation, training and targeted support across education settings throughout Buckinghamshire.

You will assist with observations, information gathering and the implementation of therapy recommendations within education settings. Under the guidance of registered therapists, you will model therapeutic strategies, support group activities and help education staff implement practical approaches that promote participation, communication, independence and inclusion.

The role includes preparing resources, supporting workforce training , contributing to classroom-based and whole-setting interventions, and helping schools develop inclusive practices. You will build relationships with education staff, families and partner agencies, providing clear feedback and maintaining accurate records of activities and outcomes.

You will contribute to service evaluation, audit and quality improvement activities that demonstrate the impact of the programme. Working independently within agreed competencies, you will manage a varied workload across community and educational settings while receiving support and supervision from experienced therapists.
