Multi Trade Operative

Sandwell Council is seeking skilled and reliable Multi Trade Operative to join our Repairs Service, delivering high-quality housing repairs and maintenance across our council housing stock.

This is a hands-on role where your work will directly improve the safety, quality, and comfort of residents' homes.

The Role

As a Multi Trade Operative, you will:

Carry out a wide range of repairs and maintenance works across multiple trades, including carpentry, basic plumbing, plastering, and general building works Work in both tenanted and void properties, completing jobs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard Diagnose faults and complete repairs with a strong right first-time approach Use mobile technology to receive, manage, and record repair works Deliver excellent customer service, communicating professionally and respectfully with residents and colleagues Follow all health and safety, safeguarding, and council procedures always

Have proven experience working in a multi-trade housing repairs environment Can work independently while managing a varied daily workload Take pride in the quality of their work and customer satisfaction Understand the importance of health and safety and safe systems of work Are comfortable using handheld devices and digital systems Hold a full UK driving licence Relevant trade qualifications are applicable for the role.
