Multi-Trade Apprentice

Fixed Term 24 month Apprenticeship - Full time 37 hours

Working under supervision, you will be expected to assist in carrying out multi trade tasks, within the scope of the role.

About the role:

This post forms an important part of the Housing Repairs & Maintenance Service. The successful applicant will be trained as part of the Housing Repairs & Maintenance team carrying out essential repairs throughout The Reading Borough Council area.

Combining work-based learning with part time release to college, you will develop knowledge and understanding of all aspects of multiple property maintenance trades.

Working under supervision, you will be expected to assist in carrying out relevant multi skilling duties, as an apprentice you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks with the majority of our work being in a domestic environment.

Examples of work content, but not exhaustive of:

Various carpentry work
Painting and decorating
Tiling and plastering

You will have support from our existing teams and learn from experienced trades.

With an enthusiasm for working within the building industry, you will require no previous experience or qualifications. You will be working towards a Property Maintenance Operative level 2 apprenticeship qualification.
You must have a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a commitment to high quality customer service, with the ability to understand the importance of good teamwork.
You must have good communication skills with both customers and colleagues.
You must have or be willing to work toward having a full driving licence.
