Multi Skilled Operative

Looking for a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same? Want to build practical skills, operate heavy plant on a daily basis, and be part of a close-knit operational team producing essential construction materials?, We're recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative to support the safe and efficient production of dry aggregates at our Tendley Quarry in Cockermouth, Cumbria. This role will involve daily operation of a Face Excavator, alongside a wide range of other quarry-based duties. It's a great opportunity for someone with an industrial, quarrying or plant background who enjoys responsibility, teamwork, and developing their technical capability. Easily accessible from Workington, Keswick, Whitehaven, Troutbeck, Grasmere, Penrith, Carlisle, and surrounding areas. What you'll be doing

• Operating a Face Excavator to support quarry operations
• Operating additional mobile plant and site machinery (ADT dumpers, loading shovels, static plant)
• Supporting daily production targets and on-time customer deliveries
• Carrying out routine plant maintenance and site housekeeping
• Working closely with supervisors and team members to maximise plant availability
• Championing high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance
• Promoting a strong behavioural safety and zero-harm culture on site
  
  Experience in an industrial, quarry, factory or aggregates environment (preferred)
• Excavator experience, particularly face work, is highly desirable
• Mobile plant experience (shovel / ADT / dumpers beneficial)
• A proactive, flexible approach with strong teamwork skills
• Good communication skills and reliable timekeeping
• Willingness to learn new skills and develop operational and supervisory capability
• Understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work (beneficial)
• IT literacy and a full UK driving licence
Plant tickets, including an excavator and shovel licence are advantageous, but full training can be provided for the right candidate.
