Full Job Description
As an MTO Technician you will provide the MTO team with "ready for production" manufacturing equipment through the use of tooling changes, calibrations & verification checks. You will also perform general maintenance and routine servicing of the equipment. Provide operations with regular timely calibration and performance checks to production and key manufacturing equipment Perform tool changes to a schedule in a timely manner or as requested Perform correct set up and general maintenance on the equipment. Undertake other tasks as required by the BU to maximize outputs, improve yields, aid trials, equipment movements or change. To be proactive in communicating with required resource to overcome issues when they arise. A full job description is available upon request.
We are looking for someone with a pro-active attitude, effective communication skills and who is keen to learn and develop as part of a busy team. You should have the following skills to be successful in this role:
- Knowledge of calibration and tool set-up
- Good understanding of contact lens production
- Ability to correlate production issues with performance and correct as necessary
- Basic fault finding and fault resolution of manufacturing equipment
- Promoting and engaging in continuous improvement activities
- Ability to understand equipment documentation, work instructions & SOP's for best practices and problem solving.
- Effective communications with Operations and with pro-active attitude to customer feedback.
- Able to work under own initiative to solve problems
- Ability to use Metrology equipment effectively Please note this is a physically demanding role with regular requirements for standing, walking around the production area as well as between other sites for most of the day. Regular movements also include bending, twisting, reaching, no particular heavy lifting required. Experience & Education: This position is open to internal employees only. Ideally this role is suited to a current Technical Operator or Production Operator with the relevant levels of technical experience as described above.
