To carry out diagnostic MRI examinations either alone or under the guidance of Senior MRI Radiographers, producing optimum quality images and delivering care to a consistently high standard in all areas of the MRI department. We have an exciting opportunity for Qualified Radiographers to join MRI team at UHCW NHS Trust. The Successful candidate will perform a full range of imaging examinations to a high standard ensuring compliance with imaging protocols in MRI across all UHCW sites, and carry out diagnostic MRI examinations either alone or under the guidance of Senior MRI Radiographers, producing optimum quality images and delivering care to a consistently high standard in all areas of the MRI department. Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP. 1. To undertake general MRI tasks, in line with governmental and departmental protocols, working both alone and within MR teams. 2. To check patient identification and documentation, and ensure the appropriate MRI examinations are carried out in accordance with departmental protocols and clinical requests. 3. Operating a range of MRI equipment, assessing the patients' needs and being able to adapt and modify MR techniques according to the patient's condition. Attending to the patients` safety and welfare at all times. 4. To evaluate MR images for diagnostic quality, and alert clinicians of any abnormality when appropriate 5. Assist and prepare patients and equipment for specialised examinations undertaken by senior MRI staff, Radiologists and other clinicians.,
- To give theoretical instructions, practical guidance, and supervision to student Radiographers, assistant Practitioners and trainees.
- To assist with the practical experience of newly inducted staff.
- To facilitate communication between the department and all service users, patients, relatives, staff and external users, including any adherence to trust policies, including the participation in annual appraisal systems.
- Communicate with patients and professions colleagues in situations that may be traumatic due to pressures of work or where the patients condition may be a barrier to comprehension and compliance, e.g Claustrophobia, learning difficulties or injury traumatised.
- To ensure the correct use, and care of all equipment and report defective equipment or potential hazard to senior staff in accordance with the Departmental Health and Safety policy.
- To safely utilise all resources for the maximum benefit of the service and to assist in the maintenance of stock levels.
- To assist in the implementation of all manual and electronic information systems ensuring consistently accurate data collection and recording, in support of standard data collection, performance activity , audit, capacity and demand analysis.
